Our bakery/coffee-shop in Dana Bay opened in August 2017. This is the main place where we sell our nice bread, pastries and coffee. We also have a stand at Langeberg Mall, banks level, next to “Coffee 2 Go” on Wednesdays and Fridays.
We are French artisan bakers and we offer different kinds of breads all made with stoneground flour, baked in the French traditional way as Glenton was trained in France as an Artisan Baker. To bake, we use only natural ingredients, no additives, preservatives or colorants and NO sugar, which gives our bread that unique French taste.
We also bake fine pastries and croissants, made by our French Pastry Chef, Antoine, who was also trained in France. The croissant pastry is made with 100% real butter, which makes it very popular, especially the croissant aux amandes (almond croissant), this is our best seller so far, followed by our famous éclairs. We bake daily, starting at 3.00 am in the morning in order to guarantee high quality, healthy and freshly baked products to our customers,
In Mossel Bay, we supply some places in town with bread (restaurants and coffee shops) and we bake on order. We do catering for birthday parties, business meetings or any function.
Glenton attended l’ “Ecole de Boulangerie et de Pâtisserie d’Aurillac” in France where he qualified as an Artisan Baker. He was taught by Christian Vabré who was Meilleur Ouvrier de France which means « Best Artisan of France » in his category.
Antoine, the Pastry Chef, completed the “La Bastille team” in March 2018. He attended “le CFA de Boulangerie et de Pâtisserie de Saint-Michel Mont Mercure” in France, where he qualified as both French Artisan Pastry Chef and French Artisan Baker. He’s happy to bring and share his “savoir-faire” to Mossel Bay through all the different fine pastries that he’s baking daily, like delicious croissants, fruit tarts, éclairs and brownies. He is also creating new pastries every now and then like the Macarons that we are now proud to offer.
